Julie Miller, a graduate of The Tyler School of Art who resides in Allentown, PA, has long had a love of vintage photographs—the forgotten ones you might find in an old box, their stories lost to memory. It is these odd, surreal images that she recreates in her work, mingled with her fascination with science, ancient fairy tales, old chemical glassware, and insects. She aims to pull the viewer into a her world of the "might-have-been" by combining vintage photographs with her own, then digitally drawing and painting within them to create seamless compositions. Her work has been shown in numerous galleries including some in New York, Philadelphia, and Italy, and is part of the permanent collection at The James A. Michener Museum as well as The Cathedral of St. John The Divine in NYC. Most recently, Chris Hardwick of TV’s “The Talking Dead” added two of Julie’s prints to his collection. Julie's Website .
